1. What
is AttachWay for OWA?
AttachWay for OWA or Microsoft Outlook Web Access is
a powerful enhancement that allows OWA users to access
their corporate shares to locate and find files and
documents to send as attachments with their OWA emails.
Without AttachWay users can only access and browse the
local hard drive in the remote workstation they are
working on. The AttachWay for OWA enhancement allows
users to be remote and still access files and documents
stored behind the firewall. No downloads are required
for attachments.
2. Who needs AttachWay?
All OWA users will appreciate the additional functionality
that AttachWay delivers. AttachWay increases employee
productivity using OWA anywhere. More then 60% of users
send corporate documents with emails. AttachWay will
allow them to carry out their business Everywhere.
3. How will my enterprise
benefit from AttachWay?
AttachWay increases corporate security and employee
productivity. Users no longer need carry with them portable
drives or download documents from the corporate portal
only to upload them again to the Exchange server. The
act of leaving corporate documents behind on un-trusted
workstations is highly controversial. From a productivity
standpoint AttachWay fills a very large OWA function
gap by allowing employees to access their internal documents
from within OWA.
4. How can a user access
AttachWay?
From OWAs attachment button an AttachWay button
is added. The user can browse locally or their internal
shares. Its completely web based and transparent
to the user. They web interface is windows like and
allows the user to navigate through their directories
and folders to locate files and documents to send. Double
clicking on a document attaches it to the message body,
thats it! No down or uploading required. The user
can choose to rename the document of delete it if they
later wish from the message body.
5. How does AttachWay
work?
Borrowing heavily from our FileWay technology AttachWay
has 3 server components. AttachWay OWA interface, backend
server and SecureView server. Its all very transparent
to the user.
6. What files does AttachWay
access?
Typically users are granted access to the same file
and network resources they have access to internally.
Generally based on Active Directory settings the user
by default has the same access privileges. Administration
may set a variety of additional rules to reduce the
access rights.
7. Does AttachWay interface
with FileWay?
The two products largely share the same core components
and depending on what product is installed 1st the 2nd
only takes a few moments to configure. They both allow
the end user to access the same file and network shares.
Albeit for separate purposes; FileWay allows users to
upload, download view and to manage their documents,
AttachWay allows them to browse their shares locate
files and attach them to the OWA message body. Many
of our existing FileWay customers using OWA will appreciate
the added security and advantages of AttachWay.
8. What is SecureView
and is it built into AttachWay?
Yes SecureView is built into AttachWay but not to be
confused with our SecureView for OWA provided for received
Attachment viewing. SecureView is our secure document
viewing technology. This built-in technology is more
then a feature it handles the issue of downloading documents
and leaving them behind on untrusted workstations. The
SecureView built-in to AttachWay allows for the pre-viewing
of documents and files prior to attaching them to the
message body rather SecureView for OWA allows for the
secure viewing of received OWA attachments. We plan
to bundle both products in the near term.
9. What additional actions
can a user perform remotely using AttachWay?
Beyond browsing shares to locate and attach files. Users
also have the ability to save existing attachments to
their internal shares, Users may securely preview files
before attaching them. This is useful to ensure you
are send the correct document and version. Create/delete
new folders, change the folder views to assist in locating
files, delete file, cut/copy/paste file etc.
10. Will AttachWay
work with my existing network and security
infrastructure?
Yes, AttachWay is deeply integrated into MS Outlook
Web Access and utilizes the security infrastructure
applied to it including; authentication, passwords,
session encryption etc.
11. Is it easy to install
and configure AttachWay?
Yes. AttachWay relies on the same FileWay management
wizard to quickly allow administrators to set up and
map user and group files to their folders and shares.
AttachWay is very flexible in its ability to meet a
wide range of enterprise system and security architectures. |
